Day 10, 2008 thru to October 31: 2 x dives on the reefs off the Mozambique coast, weather permitting. The best way to see Whale Sharks is to trawl the back-line and look for the tell-tail tail fin of this massive beast but because the diving is so spectacular and on your way to and from the reef you are bound to "bump" into Whale Sharks we suggest that you schedule 2 dives a day whilst at Barra. When you do spot a Whale Shark the skipper will drop you off in front of the animal allowing it to swim up to you. The best way to "dive" with Whale Sharks is on snorkel as the exhaust bubbles from your regulator, if on scuba, often frightens the animals away. When diving at Barra we always schedule one dive on the far our reefs with the second dive on a nearby "house reef". As Whale Sharks are most commonly found close in-shore just behind the back-line you are likely to encounter these animals on your boat ride to and from your dive. Overnight at Barra Lodge on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 11, 2008 thru to October 31: Two more dives on the reefs off Barra Lodge, weather permitting. Again one dive scheduled on a far reef, +- 25 km’s from the launch site and the second on a close by house reef. The rest of the day spent in paradise in Moz. Overnight at Barra Lodge on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 12, 2008 thru to October 31: Your last 2 dives on the reefs off Barra Lodge, weather permitting. The first dive will be scheduled for a far dive with the second dive on a nearby “house” reef. Rest of the day free. Overnight at Barra Lodge on a dinner bed and breakfast basis.
Day 13, 2008 thru to October 31: After breakfast, Barra Lodge will transfer you back to Inhambane Airport where you will board the return flight to Johannesburg International, own arrangements. End of services.
