Dive The Big 5’s 2008 6 night / 7 day KrugerNational Park guided safari.

 Itinerary

Day 01.
Thru October 31, 2008:

Arrive at the KrugerMpumalangaInternationalAirport, own arrangements. On arrival you will you will be met by your guide in an air-conditioned VW Microbus. It will take you 30 minutes to reach Numbi Gate where you will enter the KrugerNational Park. This is where your adventure begins. Immediately on entering the Park your game viewing begins. Kruger is in excess of 20 000 sq kilometres (7 400 sq miles) is home to over 493 species of birds, 147 species of mammals, 114 species of reptiles, 49 species of fish and 33 species of amphibians. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed en route to your overnight camp, this will be at one of the many picnic sites situated in the park. The rest of the afternoon will be spend game viewing on the way to Lower Sabie Rest camp which is situated on the backs of the Sabi River, one of 5 perennial rivers that flow through the Park, the life-line to all types of animals. Day 2
Thru October 31, 2008:
Full day spent game viewing in the southern sector of the KrugerNational Park. You will be woken by your guide an hour before the camp gates open for a light breakfast of tea/coffee, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit. You will depart camp at gate opening time / sun rise and the rest of the day is spent on safari. At about 10h00 you will stop off at one of the picnic spots for brunch which is prepared by your guide in a “skottle”. After brunch you spend the rest of the day on safari in Kruger. You will return to camp at gate closing time / sunset. Dinner will be prepared by your guide over on open fire. Overnight at Lower Sabi on a fully inclusive (all meals) basis.

Day 3
Thru October 31, 2008:
An early morning call for the leisurely transfer to your next overnight camp, Satara which is situated in the savannah area on the central KrugerNational Park. The best game viewing is done early in the morning before the heat of the day sets in. On your way to Satara you will stop over at the Tshokwane picnic site for brunch.  This area of the Park is especially good for sightings of lion and leopard, so keep your eyes peeled! See if you can find zebra rolling in the dust at Kumana Dam. Overnight at Satara Rest Camp on a fully inclusive (all

Day 4
Thru October 31, 2008:

Another full day spent game viewing in the central area of Kruger where plains animals abound, such as zebra, wildebeest, ostrich, cheetah and of course the ever present mighty elephant. Overnight at Satara Rest Camp on a fully inclusive (all meals) basis.

Day 5
Thru October 31, 2008:
Today you will game view all the way to Olifants Camp which is set on the cliffs overlooking the OlifantsRiver, arguably one of the loveliest camps in Kruger. Day 6
Thru October 31, 2008:
Full day to explore the area around Olifants. Perhaps pay the neighbouring
Letaba camp and visit the Elephant Hall where the tusks of Kruger’s “Magnificent 7” are displayed for all to see. You can also take a guided tour up Masorini hill where early Africans melted iron for the making of their spears - truly an archaeological site from the iron age.
Overnight at Olifants Rest Camp fully inclusive basis.

Day 7
Thru October 31, 2008:
Up at the crack of dawn for the drive down to Orpen Gate. Lots to see along the
way - Brunch at Satara. Look out for lions and cheetah amongst the wildebeest and zebra in this region. We will exit the park at Orpen Gate and transfer to Eastgate Airport where you will connect with the 1 hour domestic flight to Johannesburg International, own arrangements. End of services.

 Cost based on 2 people travelling

ZAR 18 155 per person sharing.
Single supplement.ZAR 2 120 per single accommodation.
The above cost includes;  all accommodation on a shared basis; meals as specified; all indicated excursions, transfers and game drives in an air-conditioned VW Microbus; park entrance fees; KNP conservation levy; 14% VAT.

The above cost excludes; International and domestic air-fares; all items of a personal nature; drinks; gratuities; porterage; tours and transfers etc. not specified in the itinerary; cancellation, baggage or medical insurance; visas; new Government taxes.
