2008: The Great White and Tiger Shark Dive Combo

Also for the shark enthusiast. We have about 99% sighting records for these two sharks. The Great White's are encountered in Gansbaai and this is cage diving. The Tiger Sharks are encountered off Aliwal Shoal and this is free diving.

 Itinerary

Day 01.
2008 thru to October 31:
Arrive Cape Town International Airport, own arrangements. On arrival you will be met by Dive The Big 5 for the two hour road transfer to Gansbaai. This transfer takes you through some spectacular mountain passes and onto Gansbaai. Rest of the day free. Overnight at Saxon Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis. www.saxonlodge.com

Day's 2 & 3.
2008 thru to October 31:
After an early breakfast you will be collected from Saxon Lodge for 5 hours spent at sea cage diving with the Great White's of Gansbaai, weather permitting. On return to harbour you will have the rest of the day free to explore the White Shark capital of the world, Gansbaai. Overnight at Saxon Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 04.
2008 thru to October 31:
Spend 5 hours at sea cage diving with the Great White's. After the dive you will transfer back to Cape Town International Airport where you will board the 2 hour domestic flight to Durban, own arrangements. On arrival at Durban Airport you will again be met by Dive The Big 5 for the 45 minute road transfer to Rocky Bay on the KwaZulu/Natal south coast. During the course of the evening you will be contacted by Dive The Big 5 and we will give you the expected weather forecast for the following day and the time to be on the beach for the pre-dive planning. Day's 05 to 07.
2008 thru to October 31:
At a time advised the previous evening you will assemble at the dive centre to sign the necessary indemnity forms and for the pre dive planning. You will then board the "Rubber Duck" (Zodiac) for 5 hours at sea - free diving with the Tiger's of Africa, weather permitting. On the return to Rocky Bay you will have the rest of the day is free. Overnight at Ellingham Resort on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 08.
2008 thru to October 31:
After breakfast Dive The Big 5 will transfer you back to Durban Airport. End of services.

Cost based on 2 people travelling:
ZAR 12 000 net, per person sharing.
Single supplement.ZAR 1 800 net, per single accommodation.
Non-diver prices available on request.

The above cost includes; all accommodation on a shared basis; meals as specified; all dives as indicated; full equipment hire when cage diving with the Great Whites and the hire of weight belts, weights, tanks and all air-fills when free diving with the Tigers; all indicated transfers; services of a local dive master to lead all dives; DAN emergency divers insurance; 14% VAT.
